1. Send a balanced lunch and snack, in easy-to-open containers, which do not require refrigeration or heating. No cans with sharp lids, please. (please see "Lunch Bunch" rules) 2. All children need a change of clothing, labeled and sealed in a sip lock bag. 3. Please have children leave toys at home unless the teacher specifies a "show and tell." 4. A nutrious snack will be provided for children staying for afternoon extended care. 5. Please stay in cars at pick-up time to keep the line moving. 6. To insure that your child gets the most out of school, be on time and keep visits with parents and teachers brief. 7. Parents will be called anytime their child is unable to participate in our regular activities. 8. For safety and comfort, we suggest your child wear socks and some form of tennis shoes. 9. In the event that your child bites another child you will be called immediately to take he/she home. The parent of the child who received the bite will be notified. 10. If your child comes early or stays late you must sign them in and out in the book on the bar.

Lunch Rules
- NO yogurt, pudding, soup spaghetti-os, canned fruit cups or cans of tuna.
- NOthing to heat or eat with a spoon.
- NO lunchables with multiple packaging or messy stuff like pizza, burgers or pancakes.
- Meat/cheese/cracker ones are O.K.
Reasons: Messy and smelly on carpet, must be heated, can cut fingers, teacher labor intensive.
Suggestions: We encourage you to send any other food your child enjoys and you want them to eat. Note here that children eat better sometimes away from parents, so don't be afraid to try new things. Any finger food is great. Examples include bite size cheese, meat, fruits, cooked or raw veggies, dip, hard boiled eggs, sandwiches, pitas, burritos, chips, crackers, cereals, sushi, tater tots, pizza — Yes, they'll eat things at room temperature.
The best idea is a plastic dish with compartments and a lid. Other items can be in baggies. And don't forget a napkin and a drink - juice boxes and pouches, sippy cups or sport bottles are fine.
Send simple snacks like raisins and cereal or pretzels, 2 graham crackers, a half of piece of fruit.
Regarding special days like Birthdays: You are welcome to send treats for your child's class at any time! We teachers like treats too!
Please respect us by following the rules. If you wore our shoes for one day, you'd agree. If you send items from the NO list, we'll send them right back, but we promise to be nice about it!
In conclusion, a beloved long time teacher here, Miss Joy, remarked one day that lunch was the worst time of the day. These wonderful teachers deserve to have optimal conditions for a pleasant lunch with their classes. I'm sure you agree!
